As one of the most public buildings on the
wentworth institute of technology’s
campus, the William H. Flanagan Campus Center at Beatty Hall is an integral facility to the daily lives of many.
Essential to the project’s success is the creation of a flexible, multi- purpose facility for various student and campus activities, including a fitness center, the radio station, a health and wellness center, and the bookstore.
Adding to the building’s energetic vibe is the Pavilion, a new student lounge situated at the ground level entrance to the building, also visible from the quad through the new glass curtainwall.
The building’s entrance introduces a new, inter-communicating staircase with bold graphic expressions that are open to the first three levels of the building and is also visible from the outside.
The design of a two-story, 7,000-gross-square-foot addition accommodates the expansion and renovation of the dining commons, function room, kitchen and servery, as well as the creation of a new outdoor “pocket park.”
