Who We Are

Rick Almeida, LEED® AP BD+C, NCARB

Senior Project Manager

Rick has a long track record of leading large-scale projects to successful completions. He achieves these results through extensive communication with all stakeholders, providing direction to team members and collaborating with clients and trades.  He also takes time to mentor architects who are new to the practice.  His role, as he sees it, is to help them identify professional goals and determine the right paths to accomplish them.

For much of his career, Rick focused on work for municipalities and educational institutions.  Since joining SGA, he has added life sciences to his areas of expertise.

Previously Rick served as an associate, project architect, and project manager at Socotec AE Consulting (formerly CBI) in Boston.  During the four years he spent there, he designed and managed multiple projects simultaneously from feasibility and conceptual studies through construction administration and close-out.  Earlier he worked as a senior project architect at OMR Architects in Acton, where his focus was in construction documents and administration.

Rick earned a bachelor of science degree in architectural engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology.  Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, which includes his wife, son, daughter, and a kitten named Nacho. He also has served as a building committee member for the West Elementary School in the Town of Andover since 2018.  In addition, Rick has been renovating his house for several years, and he’s pleased to report that it’s nearly complete.
