Who We Are

Vera Juul, LEED® AP BD+C

Project Designer

Many architects gravitate toward design or production. Vera enjoys both: She likes to be involved in all phases of a project from concept to punch-list. Through every stage, she relishes the collaboration between clients, architects, engineers, and consultants, which leads to successful results.

Vera’s overarching goal is to create built environments that have a positive impact on users, are mindful of the larger community, and are sustainable. At SGA, she keeps this aim in mind with every project she undertakes, whether it’s a repositioning or ground-up construction.

Previously Vera served as an architect at Smith Group. During her six years there, she developed expertise in complex healthcare projects, working closely with engineers to integrate functions and aesthetics for leading hospitals in the Boston area. Earlier she worked at Moshe Safdie and Associates, focusing on international commissions.

Vera earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from California Polytechnic University of San Luis Obispo and a degree in interior design from Inter Dec College in Montreal. A citizen of Mexico, U.S. and Canada with a Danish mother and Mexican father, she speaks four languages (English, Spanish, French, and Danish). Given her multinational background, it’s no surprise that she loves to travel and explore unfamiliar places, to meet the people who live there, and to immerse herself in their culture, food, and language.
