Who We Are

Bob Lee, AIA, BSA

Senior Project Architect

Bob has an exceptionally diverse background, which encompasses design and project management for multiple building types, including office, retail, hospitality, entertainment, and high-end residential. Although he’s comfortable with all stages of the architectural lifecycle, he especially enjoys construction administration, when he can see conceptual designs take physical form in the field.

Despite his 35-plus years of experience, Bob is always eager to develop new areas of expertise. Since joining SGA, he has added life sciences to his portfolio.

Previously Bob served for nine years as a project architect and project manager at Elkus Manfredi Architects. As part of the interiors team, he played a critical role in ensuring cohesion between the core and shell design and tenant fit-outs. Earlier he worked as a project architect and senior associate at Wilson Butler Architects, where he specialized in venues for performing arts on land and on cruise ships.

Bob earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland. He loves spending time with his SGA colleagues in the office, but he’s also active outside of it. He’s hiked approximately half of the Appalachian Trail and looks forward to tackling the rest. He makes his own wood furniture. His wife is a cyclist, and he sometimes joins her on rides. Both are baseball fans, as is their teenage son. This sport influences their family vacations, which typically involve visits to ballparks.
