Kara brings her engaging design skills to SGA by leading a wide range of project types, including ground-up construction, tenant improvements, lobbies, and core amenities. With every commission, she works closely with clients to create meaningful, functional, and innovative spaces, while mentoring teams. Passionate about building unique identities for organizations, she successfully oversees interiors’ work from conceptual design through construction administration.
A WELL-certified professional, Kara is a strong advocate of improving human health and creating wellness in the workplace. She helps clients create harmonious environments that include healthy finishes, biophilic design elements, and the use of natural light through space-planning. This forward-thinking approach achieves both occupant satisfaction and a reduction in our global footprint.
Before joining SGA, Kara served as a senior interior designer at Margulies Perruzzi, where she specialized in workplace projects for clients at technology start-ups, pharmaceutical, and financial service firms. Her prior years of experience included retail and residential design. Over the past 10 years, she has developed a reputation for outstanding communication, follow-up, and execution.
Kara received a B.S. degree in interior design from Endicott College with a concentration in sustainable design. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling (Italian cities are favorite destinations), playing field hockey, softball, and participating in spin classes. She is an active IIDA member, supporting non-profit organizations as co-chair of philanthropy for the New England chapter. One of her greatest passions is cooking, and you can read all about her adventures in the kitchen on her Instagram blog at Cooking.w.kara.
