Katie is involved in every aspect of human resources at SGA. The variety of her responsibilities, which include onboarding, recruiting, training & development, change management, and employee wellness, is a good match for her flexible and easygoing nature. Her interest in architecture and design adds to her enjoyment of her role.
Before joining SGA, Katie served as a senior HR coordinator for three years at Cengage Group, an education technology provider. There she specialized in programming for and implementation of the firm’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS), and spearheaded learning and development projects. Previously she was the coordinator for the department of organizational psychology at William James College – a position that led to her enrollment in a master’s program in HR at the same institution. Earlier in her career she worked in advertising at Ralph Lauren in New York City.
In addition to her master’s degree, Katie earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Roger Williams University. Outside of the office, she likes to visit the beach at Narragansett, play tennis, and travel. Her favorite destinations so far are Italy and Iceland.
